Before the sleepover event at the Planetarium, Abbott sent Pumplette a free, Freestyle Libre to try. What follows here is Pumplette’s first encounter with the Freestyle Libre. She hadn’t seen the product before this & the video shows her every reaction…..!
This video is in no way meant to be a tutorial!! Please, don’t take medical advise from us, it’s a wonder Pumplette has survived my ineptitude for this long. I’d hate to be responsible for anyone else’s health, as would she – she’s only 12!
(I will add a footnote that the insertion in this video is NOT typical. It should be much easier to gently press the insertor onto the skin in order to deploy the sensor.)
Love it – her response to trying to put it together and in reminds me of my first attempt! Can’t wait to hear how she gets on with it xxx
How have you got on with yours? xxx
Absolutely love it. Found differences were slightly greater between Libre and BGM on the second sensor, but adapted and got on with it. Control seems so much easier to manage – but that could just be down to my age!
I believe she will get along just fine. I bet she had super fun. I loved the video.
I referred your blog to the TUDiabetes blog site for the week of April 18, 2016.
Fantastic many thanks. Just bought one for my daughter to try on her school residential trip in june. She has no hypo awareness so has to be tested two hourly while away so this will be great for her. Probably will use before then though. Hope your daughter has got on ok with it.
Thanks so much for sharing this … my son aged 16 and only diagnosed end of Jan just watched it … walked away saying “Is that it ?? Yep I want that” after me trying to talk to him for weeks about it and not getting anywhere. Thanks again 🙂
Thank you so much – Pumplette is rightly proud of this & making a difference for others.
Good luck, & please let me know how he gets on x
